Hello Stranger.

Ready to go on a quest?

Trying new things in front of people, especially as an adult hoping to make genuine connections, can feel nerve-wracking. But you don't need any roleplaying or improv experience to belong at the table—you don't even need to know anything about TTRPGs! You only need to be human, and luckily for us, storytelling is in our nature. Our narrative guides will take care of the rest. Whether you arrive with friends or on your own, there's always a place for you. So get ready to discover a new way to spend a couple of hours (or more!), and leave with more than memories.

You’re always invited,

  • Maybe you solved something.
  • Maybe you took a chance.

A Little Lore

Two quick things worth knowing if this is your first time at the table.

Ogopogo folklore illustration
Folklore

Folklore refers to information, wisdom and human expression that is passed on, usually anonymously, from generation to generation or transmitted and circulated as traditional cultural behaviour. Folkloric materials can be found anywhere and in any form. The main purposes of folklore are to instruct, support, entertain and express communal and individual artistic taste and creativity.

Tabletop roleplaying game in a library setting
TTRPG

A kind of role-playing game, with interactive storytelling elements in which players describe their characters' actions through speech and movement. With a combination of dice, rules, characterization, and imagination, narratives emerge from player choices that make each game a one-of-a-kind experience, full of surprises and memorable moments.

Have Questions?

WHAT ARE PILOT GAMES?

Experiences we run that are thematic, and short lived, or used as a way to provide various formats we're testing. Some pilot games might make it to our repertoire!

The goal is to create, test, and provide guests the best experiences we can.

HOW DO I BOOK?

Bookings will become available at launch through an online booking system. Join the waitlist to receive updates, early access, and an opening discount.

Our cancellation policy will be available in Terms of Service on launch.

WHO CAN I COME WITH?

Everyone over the age of 18 is welcome.

Whether you're coming on your own, with a partner, with a few friends, or with a full party, we have experiences designed for you.

Experiences accommodate up to 5 guests. Groups of 3–5 may reserve the table together. If you'd like to join a larger group and you are only 1-2 guests, we'll place you in our matching system.

For bookings involving guests under 18, please contact us directly.

WHAT IF I'M ALONE?

No problem at all. You can join our matchmaking list! The details for how to do it will be available when we launch our 1st experience.

WHAT IF THE EVENT DOESN'T FILL?

If a matchmaking experience doesn’t reach the minimum number of guests (3), we’ll notify you in advance and offer either a full refund or the option to transfer your deposit to another event.

IS THIS FOR BEGINNERS?

Absolutely! No experience is required. You don't need to be an actor, gamer, extrovert, or experienced player to belong at the table. Our storytellers will guide you through everything.

DO I NEED TO KNOW THE RULES?

Absolutely not! The way a game is played and the way you express your role will all be weaved into the experience.

Character/role sheets, and one-page core rules sheet will be provided for those who wish to keep tabs on the game mechanics and who learn better by reading.

WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT?

TTRPGs are often run under a game system; each system is chosen and modified to fit the theme of the experience and interactive elements, so then you can have a seamless transition into roleplaying.

Your main entrance will be your character, a character sheet will be provided prior and during the event. A character sheet serves as the mechanical aspects of the game, and a framework for the role you'll be taking on during the experience.

HOW IMMERSIVE IS IT?

Our narrative guides have theatre and acting backgrounds, with experience in storytelling, and event managment. Their goal is to provide the pacing, presence, and tone of the narrative while providing opportunities for you to act and react.

We provide all the necessary physical elements (such as dice trays, and role-play items) for immersion! With time, we hope to provide better locations (both indoors and outdoors) that fully create an immersive experience.

WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?

Anything…suitable for a public event. Costumes and trinkets are welcome. Sometimes we'll provide something.

WHAT IF I'M SHY OR NERVOUS ABOUT ROLEPLAYING?

Totally normal! Nearly everyone who's ever tried improv or roleplaying for the first time felt the same way, including those who’ve done it many times, and those running your session.

There's no performance test to pass and no "wrong" way to participate. Our narrative guides are trained to ease people in gradually, starting small and building comfort as the narrative unfolds; so you're never thrown into the deep end. The only real requirement is a willingness to try!

WHAT IF A TOPIC MAKES ME UNCOMFORTABLE?

You're always in control of your own experience.

Before a session begins, you can let the facilitator know about any topics you'd rather avoid, and during the experience, you can signal if something needs to shift; no explanation required.

You don't have to leave the whole experience to step back from an uncomfortable moment; we can steer around it and keep going. If you'd rather know what to expect ahead of time, just ask—we're happy to share general content notes before you book.

I DON'T SEE MY QUESTION HERE.
